Summer Assembly: Overview in a Nutshell

Shaping Your Worldview

All throughout the Story of God we see people being invited to change the way they view the world, to change the way they understand their life, to change the way live.

This week we are going to challenge the way you view the world. Even more then that we want to call you away from thoughtless Christianity and towards a holistic faith where you start to love God with your mind, body, heart and soul.

Your worldview answers the following questions: How is the world put together? Where have we come from? Where are we going? What should we do with our lives? How should we attain our goals? What is true and false? How you answer these questions will determine how you live.

So I ask you where do you think the world came from? Where do you think it is going? How are you supposed to know the difference between right and wrong?
Do you believe in one God who is responsible for creating this universe? For creating you? How you see/understand the world determines how you live. Do you think the world revolves around you? Are you the main character in the story? Or does everything revolve around Christ? Again how you see the world determines how you live.

Loving God with our Mind, Body, Heart, and Soul

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matthew 22 from the NET Bible.

This week we want to broaden our understanding of what it means to follow Jesus. We want to push the boundaries that often confine Christ in our lives and learn to let the Gospel have free reign. Following Christ will take all of our being. Not just our minds, not just our Sunday's. Christ is inviting us to a whole new way of life that will consume every aspect of our being and send us into the world with a mission.

Don’t live your life and miss the God who gave you life. Everything is pulling to distract you. Don’t miss Christ. Please don’t forget about God who sent his son to die in your place for your sin to save your life. Not only to give you a better life here and now, but also to promise you second life after death, where you will be raised from the dead and live with God forever. Don’t waste your life. You have been specially created on purpose by God who loves you. Your mission is to go and love and share all that God has done with the world around you.
